Welcome to my blog for my car restoration projects

Car restoration

Some background info:

This is my latest project its an Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale 1964 chassis no 380789.

The original paint was black with red interior its one of a run of 1400 cars built in the 1960's i have no registration details or registration number as yet, (if anyone can help with history of this car perhaps you can forward details to me) it came to me as these things usually do by luck, it was bought sometime around 1990 from a garage in London as a part restored restoration project and was parked until late 2010 outside a lockup with a sheet over it where sadly it continued to rust.

I have so far concentrated on stabilizing the front end to keep the lines and shuts good,

Blog Updated: 3rd Dec 2012

I must apologize for the lack of blog updates here, I cant believe how fast 2011 disappeared, much of it i have spent stabilizing the shell. Please click on the pictures below to see a larger image.

I have fixed the tops of the wings and front panel and i have skinned the front panel upper and I have also fitted the bonnet to line up the wing tops, I have also made good the front screen pillars and roof supports using a shrinker stretcher tool I bought especially for the job, I think the bare shells where stored outside the factory at some point during manufacture, I have also heard this from other restorers. my next job is to repair the floor panels and sills.
